Bistable relay for lighting and device control

The BIS-411-2Z bistable relay is a practical solution for controlling lighting or other devices from multiple points. It operates on an impulse basis – each button press changes the relay state (turns on or off). DIN rail mounting simplifies installation in a distribution box, and compatibility with backlit buttons increases user comfort. The device is particularly useful in installations where traditional stairwell switches are insufficient or we want greater flexibility in control.

Functionality and application

The BIS-411-2Z relay allows you to create a control system where the receiver is switched on and off by pressing any button connected to the relay. This is an ideal solution for rooms where access to one switch is difficult or we want to be able to control the lighting from several places – e.g. entrance hall, living room, bedroom. Thanks to the fact that the relay returns to the off state after a power failure, we avoid undesirable situations, such as the automatic switching on of the light after the power returns. Two independent 2xNO working contacts allow independent control of two circuits.

Technical characteristics and mounting

The BIS-411-2Z relay is designed for mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail. The power supply is 230V AC. The maximum AC-1 load current is 8A (approximate value, the specifics of the load must be taken into account). Connection is made using screw terminals 2.5 mm². It is important to remember to maintain the appropriate tightening torque (0.4 Nm). The device operates at a temperature of -25°C to 50°C and has a protection class of IP20. The relay works with backlit buttons with a current consumption of less than 5mA.
