Bistable Relay – Intelligent Lighting and Device Control
This bistable impulse relay BIS-411BM-LED is an ideal solution for controlling lighting or other devices from multiple points. Thanks to the ability to connect momentary (push-button) switches in parallel, you gain convenience and flexibility in space arrangement. The relay is designed for DIN rail mounting and is powered by 230V. The "LED" version is distinguished by a contact adapted to cooperate with receivers with high starting current, such as LED fluorescent lamps, electronic transformers or discharge lamps.
Functionality and application
The BIS-411BM-LED relay allows you to turn the circuit on and off using any connected button. It has a built-in state memory function, which means that after the power is turned on again, the relay returns to the state it was in before the power was turned off. An additional button on the housing allows direct control of the circuit without the need to use external buttons. This is particularly useful when testing the installation or in emergency situations.
The relay finds application in:
- Controlling lighting in homes, apartments and commercial buildings
- Automation of lighting systems
- Controlling electrical devices requiring pulsed on/off
- Smart home systems
Technical characteristics and benefits
The BIS-411BM-LED relay is characterized by high reliability and durability. Its construction provides resistance to surge currents, which is particularly important when working with LED receivers. The maximum switching current is 16A (160A/20ms), and a wide range of supply voltage (165-265V AC) guarantees compatibility with various electrical installations. Compact dimensions (1 module – 18mm) allow for easy installation even in tight switchboards. It is worth noting the possibility of cooperation with backlit buttons, however, it should be remembered to limit the control pulse current to less than 5mA. The state memory after a power failure is a function appreciated by users, providing comfort of use and eliminating the need to manually reset settings after a power failure.
