Bistable relay – control and memory in a compact housing
The BIS-411BM bistable relay is a practical solution for remote control of lighting or other electrical devices. Its design, based on a relay with a memory function, allows maintaining the state (on/off) even after a power failure – this is particularly useful in systems where reliability and no need to reset settings are required. DIN rail mounting simplifies installation in electrical panels.
Functionality and application
The BIS-411BM relay operates by switching the state using pulses. A short signal from a momentary (bell) button is sufficient to change the relay state – to turn the load on or off. The built-in button also enables manual control, which is convenient during tests or in emergency situations. This makes the device suitable for both home and commercial installations.
This relay is designed to work with loads with a maximum current of 16A, both resistive (light bulbs) and inductive (fluorescent lamps). It provides circuit protection against overload and short circuit — like most circuit breakers in this class. Its compact size (1 module, i.e. 18 mm wide) allows for efficient use of space in the distribution box.
Key features and parameters
The relay operates at a supply voltage in the range of 165-265 V AC, ensuring compatibility with various installations. The maximum switching current is 16 A (at cos φ = 0.6), allowing control of most typical loads. The memory function allows maintaining the relay state after a power failure, eliminating the need for re-setting. Manual operation, implemented using the built-in button, facilitates testing and manual control without the need to connect additional elements. DIN rail mounting ensures easy integration with existing electrical infrastructure. Screw terminals allow connection of wires with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm². The operating temperature range from -25°C to +50°C guarantees reliable operation in various environmental conditions. The IP20 protection degree protects against touching with a finger and against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.
