Bistable relay with timer for flush-mounting

The BIS-403 bistable electronic relay is an ideal solution for controlling lighting or other devices from multiple points, using parallel-connected buttons. Its design intended for flush-mounting makes it a discreet element of the electrical installation. This relay offers not only convenient control but also a timer function, which increases its versatility.

Application and functionality

The BIS-403 relay allows you to turn on and off electrical receivers from different locations, which is particularly useful in corridors, stairs or larger rooms. The built-in timer allows for automatic shutdown of the device after a set time (1-12 minutes), which translates into energy savings and increased safety. A short press of the button turns on the receiver for a specified time or until pressed again. A long press (minimum 2 seconds) ensures permanent switching on, which can be interrupted by another press or a power failure.

Construction features and operating parameters

The BIS-403 relay is designed for reliability and safety. Its housing is adapted for mounting in a flush-mounting box with a diameter of 60 mm. The maximum switching capacity for incandescent bulbs is 1250 W, and for fluorescent lamps – 600 VA (with DUO or standard compensation). The rated inrush current is 10 A. The supply and control voltage is 230 V AC, and the frequency is 50 Hz. It is important to remember that the relay does not work with backlit switches. Additionally, in the event of a power failure, the relay returns to the off state – it does not have a memory of settings. This protects against accidental switching on of receivers after the power returns.

For installers:

The relay is easy and intuitive to install thanks to the wired connection (4xDY 1mm², length 10 cm) and the tightening torque of 0.4 Nm. It is important to remember the limitations regarding cooperation with backlit switches and the lack of state memory after a power failure – these are important information when designing the installation. The relay is characterized by low power consumption (0.8 W) and a wide range of operating temperatures (-25 ÷ 50 °C).
