Bistable sequential relay for flush-mounted installation BIS-404

Bistable relay BIS-404 is a solution for installations where you need to control lighting or other devices from multiple locations. It is particularly useful in so-called candlestick control, i.e. switching circuits in sequential mode. The device is designed for flush mounting in a standard installation box with a diameter of 60 mm, which facilitates integration with the existing electrical installation.

The BIS-404 relay is distinguished by two independent outputs (R1 and R2) and operates in a switching cycle of states: 0 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 0 after each short pulse at the control input. This mode of operation allows you to control two circuits independently or simultaneously, e.g. a two-section chandelier or two groups of lamps. This allows you to control different lighting configurations with a single button.

Application and functionality

This relay is ideal for use in residential buildings, offices or commercial facilities where flexible lighting control is required. It works with momentary (bell) buttons, as well as illuminated buttons – when using a larger number of buttons with indicator lights, it is recommended to use a capacitor. It is important that after a power failure, the relay resets to the off state (state 0), which ensures safety and predictability of operation. A short delay in operation (0.1 ÷ 0.2 s) protects against accidental switching caused by contact vibrations.

Installation and technical parameters

The relay is easy and intuitive to install – the device has compact dimensions (Ø54 mm, height approx. 20 mm) and fits into a standard flush-mounting box Ø60 mm. The power supply is 230 V AC, and the maximum switching capacity is 600 W for incandescent bulbs and 300 VA for fluorescent lamps (also with compensation). The relay has screw terminals with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² and a protection class of IP20. The rated switching current is 5 A. It is worth remembering that the maximum load current per contact is up to 8A (AC-1).
