How does the DRL-12 sensor work?

The sensor emits a laser beam and measures the time it takes to return after reflecting off an obstacle. Based on this measurement, it precisely determines the distance of the object. If this distance is within the set detection range, the light is switched on. Thanks to this, the sensor effectively ignores movement outside the operating area, for example, on a staircase it will not react to people passing by downstairs.

Thanks to the ability to directly control lighting circuits and cooperate with AS-225 controllers, the sensor finds application in both home and commercial installations. In addition, the soft switching on and off of the light provides visual comfort and extends the life of light sources. A built-in LED indicates the operating status of the device, making it easier to diagnose any problems.

The supply voltage is from 9 to 27 V DC, the maximum load current is 4 A, and the detection range can be adjusted from 0.1 to 2 meters. The brightness threshold sensitivity is in the range of 2 to 500 lx, and the degree of protection is IP40. Mounting is flush-mounted in a box with a diameter of 35 mm.
