Laser Distance Sensor DRL-12 – Intelligent Lighting Control

DRL-12 is a laser distance sensor utilizing Time of Flight (ToF) technology for precise motion detection and automatic lighting control. It is ideal for hallways, stairs, or other places where energy-saving and convenient solutions are needed. The sensor is available in many front color variants, allowing it to be matched to the interior design.

Precision and functionality in one

The DRL-12 sensor measures the time it takes for a beam of light to travel, reflected from an obstacle, allowing for an accurate determination of distance. Thanks to this, the device reacts only to movement in a designated area, eliminating unnecessary lighting. The ability to adjust the detection range (0.1 – 2 m) and the light hold time (0 – 10 minutes) provides full control over the system's operation. A built-in brightness sensor prevents the lighting from turning on during the day, further increasing energy savings.

Installation and technical parameters

The sensor is designed for flush-mounting in a 35 mm diameter box. It is powered by a voltage of 9-27 V DC and can work with loads up to 4 A (50 W at 12 V DC). Additionally, the DRL-12 has thermal protection and the ability to cooperate with AS-225 cascade controllers, allowing you to create an impressive cascading lighting effect on stairs.

The power supply in the range of 9-27 V DC ensures compatibility with most low-voltage installations. The maximum load current is 4 A, which corresponds to the possibility of connecting a load of up to 50 W at a voltage of 12 V DC. The detection range can be adjusted from 0.1 to 2 meters, and the on-time from 0 to 10 minutes. The sensor also has an adjustable brightness threshold in the range of 2-500 lx. It uses Time of Flight (ToF) detection technology, has an IP20 protection class and is designed for flush-mounting in a 35 mm diameter box. The housing is made of metal.

The sensor also has a soft start and shutdown function for the lighting, as well as a status indication using an LED. This ensures comfortable use and reliable operation for a long time. Various front color versions of the sensor are available: aluminum, white, black, black ash, satin ash, black merbau, satin merbau, black walnut, satin walnut, black pine, satin pine, black aframosa, satin aframosa, satin beech and black beech, as well as black oak and satin oak.
