Power limiter, DIN rail mounting OM-623
Power consumption limiter – protection and energy consumption control
The OM-623 power limiter is a single-module device designed for mounting on a DIN rail, allowing precise control and limitation of power consumption in electrical installations. This is particularly useful in situations where it is necessary to protect against overload or limit energy consumption by connected receivers.
Functionality and application
The device measures active power in the range of 20 W to 2 kW, allowing accurate monitoring of the load. OM-623 works with various types of loads – resistive, capacitive and inductive, making it applicable in many scenarios. The operating status is indicated by LEDs: green indicates correct operation (circuit on), and red indicates exceeding the set power value (circuit off). Automatic return to operation occurs after a set time (10-100 seconds), however, in the case of continuous exceeding of the power limit, the shutdown occurs again with a delay of 2 seconds – this prevents frequent shutdowns during momentary current draw spikes.
The OM-623 limiter is compatible with:
- compact fluorescent lamps,
- electronic transformers,
- LED lamps,
- traditional light bulbs,
- heating devices.
Construction and technical parameters
The device is characterized by a compact design – it occupies only 1 module (18 mm) on a 35 mm DIN rail. The connection is made using screw terminals with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², and the tightening torque is 0.4 Nm. OM-623 operates in the power supply voltage range of 165-265 V AC and has an adjustable power limitation range (20-2000 W) and return time (10-100 s). The maximum AC-1 load current is 16 A, and AC-3 – 2 A. The device's own power consumption is only 1 W. The device is adapted to work at a temperature of -25°C to +50°C and has a protection degree of IP20.
