This hermetic PIR motion sensor with presence function is an ideal solution for automating lighting both indoors and outdoors. Thanks to its wide 360° detection angle and high IP65 protection class, it ensures reliable operation in various weather conditions. The sensor not only turns on the light after detecting motion, but also keeps it on as long as someone is within range, making it an excellent choice for hallways, courtyards, garages or building approaches.

Functionality and application

The DR-09-IP65 sensor uses passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect motion. It analyzes the size of the object, the amount of heat emitted and the speed of movement, which minimizes the risk of false alarms. Thanks to the presence function, the sensor keeps the lighting on for the entire time a person is within the detection range, which is particularly useful in places requiring continuous lighting, such as stairwells. A built-in twilight switch prevents unnecessary lighting during the day, which translates into energy savings. The ability to adjust the on-time (from 3 seconds to 13 minutes) and the twilight activation threshold (3-2000 lx) allows you to adapt the sensor's operation to individual needs and environmental conditions.

Installation and technical parameters

Surface mounting is quick and easy. The sensor has 1.5 mm² connection terminals with a tightening torque of 0.3 Nm. It is designed to operate at 230V AC and a load of up to 10A / 800W (AC-1). A wide operating temperature range (-25°C to +50°C) guarantees reliability even in difficult conditions. Compact dimensions (102 x 102 x 55 mm) allow for discreet mounting in various locations. Matte finish provides an aesthetic appearance. The detection range is up to 8 meters straight ahead and 8 meters to the side, and the diameter of the detection field on the surface is as much as 16 meters. The optimal mounting height is 2.8 meters.
