Universal solution for large sewage diameters

The VPC XXL DN1640-1690MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting sewage pipes with large external diameters from 1640 mm to 1690 mm. The product belongs to the VPC XXL series, which has been specially designed for nominal diameters from 1000 mm to 2800 mm, offering a maximum reduction of up to 50 mm while maintaining full tightness and connection stability.

High-quality construction and materials

The coupling consists of three main components forming a cohesive yet flexible unit. The adjustable sealing collar made of elastomeric rubber forms the heart of the sealing system, while the centrically aligning plastic centering guide ensures precise positioning. Two V4A (1.4404) stainless steel clamping bands allow for bilateral, separate, and smooth adjustment of the connected materials.

The design utilizes a multiple double sealing profile, which guarantees reliable sealing in accordance with the PN-EN 1610 standard. The cylindrical contact surface with a width of 60 mm on each side ensures even distribution of clamping forces around the entire circumference of the pipe. Materials have been selected for their resistance to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil, including the effects of oils and gasoline.

Advanced mounting and adjustment system

The diameter reduction occurs uniformly around the entire circumference, with the articulated middle part allowing for separate reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling. The centering guide and the sealing sleeve maintain a neutral position relative to each other, preventing the rubber from shifting or wrinkling during assembly.

In the XXL version, an integrated hybrid tensioner is used, which eliminates the need for a taper key wrench. Assembly can be carried out from a single position with a torque of 25 Nm, controlled by a torque wrench. Plastic protective profiles ensure the dimensional stability of the element and prevent the coupling from collapsing or buckling during installation.

Compatibility and practical advantages

The VPC XXL DN1640-1690MM coupling is compatible with pipes made of various materials: cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, stoneware, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP). It is suitable for both smooth-walled and profiled or corrugated pipes.

The product offers bilateral stepless adjustment with reliable shear load transfer, tested according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards. Tightness has been confirmed by pressure tests up to 2.5 bar by the MPA institute for all diameters. Thanks to the large range of covered diameters, storage is limited to a few product types, which significantly reduces warehousing costs.

The product has DIBt Z-42.5-450 approval for nominal diameters from DN 100 to DN 2000 and requires precise specification of the pipe external diameter when ordering.
