Application in sewerage

The VPC XXL DN1720-1770MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting large-diameter sewage pipes with external diameters from 1720mm to 1770mm. The product enables a secure and leak-proof connection of pipes made from various materials - cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, vitrified clay, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP).

Construction and materials ensuring reliability

The coupling's construction is based on three key components. The sealing gasket made of high-quality ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber according to the PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 standard features a multiple double sealing profile ensuring reliable tightness in accordance with PN-EN 1610. The cylindrical contact surface with a width of 380mm (insertion depth of 190mm on each side) guarantees a professional connection.

The positioning basket made of high-impact and crack-resistant plastic is resistant to both low and high temperatures. Its conically deformable middle part, along with double-sided guiding grooves for the straps, ensures centric reduction during the cylindrical alignment of materials.

The fastening straps made of V4A stainless steel (material number 1.4404) belong to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The special NBR version is resistant to oils and gasoline and is particularly resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil.

Advanced mounting and reduction system

The hybrid tensioner system allows for installation from a single position with a torque of 25Nm controlled by a torque wrench. The reduction process occurs separately and centrally, uniformly on each side, with a maximum reduction of up to 50mm.

The double-sided protrusion ensures secure strap guidance during installation. The positioning basket and the sealing gasket maintain a neutral position relative to each other, which eliminates rubber folding during diameter adjustment. The multiple double sealing profile on each side, combined with a large cylindrical pipe contact surface (60mm on each side), guarantees stepless adjustment with secure shear load transfer.

Normative compliance and certificates

The product holds DIBt-Zulassung Z-42.5-450 for nominal diameters up to 2800mm and a tightness certificate confirmed by the MPA institute for all diameters - tightness up to 2.5 bar internal water pressure. It meets the requirements of the DIN EN 1610 standards regarding the installation of sewage pipes and DIN EN 295 for vitrified clay pipes.

The double-sided stepless adjustment is subject to durability tests according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 with guaranteed resistance to shear forces. The design eliminates the need for additional leveling rings thanks to its wide diameter range coverage - one solution replaces several types of standard components.

The coupling is manufactured individually upon precise specification of the required external diameter.
