VPC XXL Flexible Coupling DN1770-1820MM

The VPC XXL DN1770-1820MM coupling enables a secure and leak-proof connection of pipes made of various materials - cast iron, PP, PE, PVC, stoneware, concrete, and GRP - even when they differ significantly in external diameters due to different construction types.

Materials and resistance

The adjustable sealing flange is made of EPDM or NBR (oil-resistant version) elastomer rubber, a centrally aligned centering basket made of high-impact plastic, and two stainless steel V4A (1.4404) clamping bands. The material is particularly resistant to corrosion and acids, maintains resistance to oils and gasoline, and shows high resistance to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil. Additionally, the material is resistant to the effects of saline seawater.

Diameter reduction mechanism

Diameter reduction occurs uniformly around the entire circumference with a maximum reduction of up to 50mm. The articulated middle part allows for separate reduction on each side of the coupling, ensuring precise fit. The centering basket and sealing sleeve are designed to prevent the rubber from spreading or wrinkling during diameter adjustment. The hybridspanner system used allows for installation without the need for a torque wrench - tightening the fastening bands can be done from a single position with a torque of 25Nm.

Design features and practical advantages

Thanks to a design that allows for a large range of diameters without the need for additional compensation rings, storage costs are significantly reduced. The double-sided protrusion ensures secure band guidance, and the cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area guarantees maximum connection tightness. The double sealing profile and the neutral position of the body relative to the sleeve eliminate the risk of rubber wrinkling during installation.

Compliance and quality certificates

The coupling has DIBt approval no. Z-42.5-450 for diameters up to 2000mm and meets the requirements of DIN EN 681-1 WC/60 for EPDM material and DIN EN 1610 for connection tightness. The design has been tested for shear load capacity according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards.
