VPC XXL Flexible Coupling DN1920-1970MM

The VPC XXL Flexible Coupling DN1920-1970MM is an advanced solution for connecting large nominal diameter sewage pipes made of various materials. The product enables a secure and leak-proof connection of cast iron, PP, PE, PVC, stoneware, concrete, and GRP pipes with outside diameters in the range of 1920-1970mm.

Construction and Operating Mechanism

The system consists of three main components: an adjustable sealing collar made of EPDM elastomeric rubber according to PN-EN 681-1 WC/60, a centrally self-aligning plastic positioning basket, and two stainless steel V4A (1.4404) clamping bands. The design allows for a diameter reduction of up to a maximum of 50mm while maintaining a uniform reduction process around the entire circumference.

The articulated middle section allows for independent reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling. The positioning basket and the sealing gasket are designed to prevent the rubber from sliding apart or wrinkling during diameter adjustment. The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids.

Performance Properties and Resistance

The material is resistant to the influence of saline seawater as well as the action of oils and gasoline due to its construction from V4A (1.4404) steel, which belongs to grades particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The coupling is especially resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil.

The multiple double sealing profile ensures reliable sealing in accordance with PN-EN 1610. The cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area has a width of 60mm on each side, guaranteeing a large contact area and secure transfer of shear loads.

Design and Installation Advantages

The protrusion on both sides ensures secure guidance of the fastening band, while the positioning basket and the sealing gasket maintain a neutral position relative to each other, eliminating the risk of rubber wrinkling. The system allows for easy installation due to the design of its components.

The solution allows for the connection of pipes with different outside diameters or made of different materials without the need for additional compensation rings. Bilateral stepless adjustment with secure shear load transfer has been tested according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295.

The coupling is equipped with an integrated hybrid tensioner for installation (without the need for a tangent wrench). The tightness of the system has been confirmed by internal water pressure tests up to 2.5 bar by the MPA institute.
