VPC XXL Flexible Coupling DN1970-2020MM

The VPC XXL DN1970-2020MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution designed specifically for large nominal diameters in sewage systems. It enables the secure connection of pipes with outer diameters from 1970mm to 2020mm, made of various materials - from cast iron and concrete, through plastics (PP, PE, PVC), to stoneware and GRP.

Construction and materials ensuring reliability

The design is based on an adjustable sealing flange made of EPDM elastomeric rubber according to the PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 standard, which forms the basis of a leak-proof connection. A centrically self-aligning locating basket made of high-impact plastic allows for precise positioning of the elements, maintaining resistance to both low and high temperatures.

Two stainless steel clamping bands V2A (1.4301) in the standard version or V4A (1.4404) in the oil-resistant version ensure bilateral, separate, and smooth adaptation of the connected materials. The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids - the oil-resistant version is additionally resistant to the action of oils and gasoline, as well as aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil.

Advanced operating parameters and safety

The system allows for a reduction of up to a maximum of ≤50mm, where the diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference thanks to an articulated middle part that allows for separate reductions on each side of the coupling. A multiple sealing profile with a width of 380mm (insertion depth of 190mm on each side) forms the basis of a professional, leak-proof, and secure pipe connection.

Tightness confirmed up to 2.5 bar has been verified by the MPA institute for all diameters. The coupling holds the DIBt Z-42.5-450 certificate for nominal diameters from 100 to 2000mm and meets the requirements of DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards regarding shear load transfer.

Installation and practical advantages of use

Installation is facilitated by a hybrid tensioner system, which eliminates the need for a tangential wrench - the tensioning of the clamping rings is performed from a single position with a torque of 25Nm. Plastic protective profiles ensure the dimensional stability of the element and prevent the coupling from collapsing or buckling during installation.

The design guarantees a bilateral lug for secure tape guidance, a cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area, and a double sealing profile that prevents the rubber from wrinkling due to the neutral position of the locating body relative to the sealing sleeve. The large cylindrical contact surface of the pipes (60mm on each side) ensures even distribution of the pressure force around the entire circumference of the pipe.
