Innovative solution for large diameter sewers
The VPC XXL DN2020-2070MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting sewage pipes with large external diameters ranging from 2020mm to 2070mm. The product enables a secure and watertight connection of pipes made from various materials - cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, stoneware, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP).
The system was specifically developed for applications requiring the connection of pipes with the same nominal diameter but significantly different external diameters resulting from different construction types. The coupling is effective for both smooth and profiled or corrugated pipes.
Advanced design and materials
The coupling construction is based on three key components: an adjustable sealing cuff made of high-quality EPDM elastomeric rubber according to the DIN EN 681-1 WC/60 standard, and a centric positioning centering ring made of high-impact resistant plastic.
The sealing cuff features a multiple double sealing profile in accordance with the DIN EN 1610 standard, ensuring reliable watertightness of the connection. Protrusions located around the circumference allow for the correct engagement of the positioning centering ring into the rubber cuff.
The two-sided strap guiding system ensures the secure installation of the fastening elements. The cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area guarantees an even distribution of compressive forces around the entire circumference of the pipe.
Versatility of applications and practical advantages
The main advantage of the VPC XXL system is the ability to reduce external diameter differences by up to a maximum of 50mm without the need for additional compensation rings. The reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference while maintaining the centric position of the elements.
The bilateral adjustment system allows for independent regulation of each side of the coupling while simultaneously ensuring continuous shear load transfer. The solution has been tested and certified according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards.
The large contact area (380mm total width) ensures connection stability even under high mechanical loads. The system maintains a neutral position relative to each other during assembly, which eliminates the risk of wrinkling or displacement of the sealing rubber.
Installation and operation
Installation requires the use of a torque wrench to achieve an optimal tightening torque of 25 Nm with the hybrid tensioner system. Positioning must ensure free access to the tensioning mechanism.
The assembly process begins by measuring the external diameters of the pipes to be connected and comparing them with the product's clamping range. Then, the cuff is placed onto the larger pipe diameter while maintaining the marked insertion depth limit.
Tightening the fastening straps is performed while maintaining a specified torque of 25 Nm. The entire process must be monitored with a torque wrench to ensure correct tensioning of the elements.
The product is delivered as a complete kit containing an assembly instruction in German, French, English, and Polish, as well as the necessary lubricant to facilitate installation.
