Innovative solution for large diameters in sewage systems

The VPC XXL flexible coupling represents a breakthrough approach to connecting sewage pipes with large nominal diameters. This advanced solution enables a secure and leak-proof connection of pipes made from various materials - cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC, vitrified clay, concrete, or GFRP - even when they feature significantly different external diameters resulting from different design types.

Construction and principle of operation

At the heart of the VPC XXL system is an adjustable sealing sleeve made of high-quality EPDM elastomeric rubber according to the PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 standard. In the standard version, the steel components are made of V2A (1.4301) stainless steel, while the special version resistant to oils and gasoline uses V4A (1.4404) steel and NBR sleeves.

The self-centering positioning basket made of high-impact plastic allows for precise positioning of the connected elements. Its cone-shaped deformable middle part works with two stainless steel fastening straps, which ensure bilateral, separate, and smooth diameter adjustment. The reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference while maintaining centric alignment.

Operating parameters and application possibilities

The VPC XXL system offers a maximum reduction of up to 50 mm, which represents a significant improvement compared to standard solutions. The multi-lip sealing profile with a width of 380 mm (insertion depth of 190 mm on each side) forms the foundation of a professional, leak-proof, and secure pipe connection.

The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The coupling demonstrates resistance to oils and gasoline and is particularly resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil. Additionally, the material remains resistant to the influence of saline seawater.

Design advantages and practical benefits

The design provides a bilateral protrusion for secure strap guidance and a cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area. The locating body and the sealing sleeve maintain a neutral position relative to each other, which eliminates the risk of the rubber folding during installation.

The system guarantees a large range of diameters without the need for additional compensation rings, which radically simplifies warehouse logistics - only a few types of couplings are needed for many installation cases. The bilateral, stepless adjustment with secure shear load transfer has been tested according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards.

Thanks to the hybrid tensioner system, installation can be carried out from a single position with a torque of 25 Nm, controlled by a torque wrench. The tightness of the system has been confirmed by testing up to a pressure of 2.5 bar (MPA certificate for all diameters).
