The VPC XXL DN2195-2245MM flexible coupling is a professional component for connecting sewage pipes with large nominal diameters ranging from 2195 to 2245mm. The product belongs to the Funke VPC® coupling family, which enables secure and leak-proof connections of pipes made from various materials - from cast iron and plastics to stoneware and concrete.

Construction and principle of operation

The coupling consists of three main components: an adjustable sealing collar made of EPDM elastomeric rubber, a self-centering plastic centering cage, and two stainless steel clamping bands. The design allows for a diameter reduction of up to 50mm while maintaining the full tightness of the connection.

The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference of the pipe, where the articulated middle part allows for separate reduction on each side of the coupling. The centering cage and the sealing sleeve are designed to prevent the rubber from slipping or wrinkling during diameter adjustment. While tightening the fastening straps, the sleeve adapts to various external diameters of pipes made from diverse materials.

Material compatibility and range of applications

The product was developed specifically for sewage pipes made of cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, stoneware, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP). The coupling is effective for both smooth-walled and profiled or corrugated pipes.

Particular attention has been paid to chemical resistance - the materials are especially resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil, as well as resistant to the influence of saline seawater.

Installation and operational advantages

The design provides bilateral, stepless adjustment with reliable shear load transfer in accordance with DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards. The large cylindrical contact surface guarantees an even distribution of pressure forces around the entire circumference of the pipe.

The multiple double sealing profile forms the basis of a professional, leak-proof, and secure pipe connection. The bilateral strap guide channel ensures their secure guidance during installation.

The use of this solution eliminates the need for additional compensating rings for external diameter differences of up to 50mm, which significantly simplifies warehouse logistics and accelerates installation work even in difficult terrain or limited working spaces.
