Innovative solution for large diameters in sewerage

The VPC XXL DN2245-2295MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting sewage pipes with large external diameters from 2245mm to 2295mm. The product belongs to the VPC XXL series, specifically designed for nominal diameters from 1000mm to 2800mm, enabling secure and leak-proof connections of pipes made from various materials.

Construction and materials ensuring durability

The coupling's construction is based on three main elements: an adjustable sealing flange made of EPDM elastomeric rubber according to PN-EN 681-1 WC/60, a centrally self-aligning positioning basket made of high-impact plastic, and two stainless steel clamping bands in V2A (1.4301) or V4A (1.4404) oil-resistant versions.

The sealing sleeve features a multiple double sealing profile ensuring reliable sealing in accordance with PN-EN 1610. The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The oil-resistant version utilizes NBR rubber according to the PN EN 681-1 WH standard, providing resistance to oils and gasoline, as well as special resistance to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil.

Versatility of connections and ease of installation

The coupling enables effective and secure connection of pipes with the same nominal diameter but made of different materials—cast iron, PP, PE, PVC, vitrified clay, concrete, or GRP—even with significantly different external diameters resulting from different pipe construction types. The design allows for a reduction of up to a maximum of ≤50mm while maintaining full tightness.

The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference thanks to a hinged middle part that allows for separate reduction on each side of the coupling. The positioning basket and the sealing sleeve maintain a neutral position relative to each other during diameter adjustment, which prevents the rubber from spreading or wrinkling.

Regulatory compliance and operating parameters

The product holds DIBt Z-42.5-450 approval for nominal diameters from DN100 to DN2000 and DIN EN 1610 certificates regarding tightness. A multiple protective profile with a width of 380mm (insertion depth of 190mm per side) forms the basis for a professional, tight, and secure pipe connection at pressures up to 2.5 bar.

The integrated hybrid tensioner eliminates the need for a torque wrench when installing large diameters. Tightening the retaining rings is performed with a torque of 25Nm, verified with a torque wrench. Plastic protective profiles ensure the dimensional stability of the component and prevent the coupling from collapsing or buckling during installation.

The large cylindrical contact surface (60mm on each side) guarantees reliable transfer of shear loads while maintaining bilateral stepless adjustment without the need for additional shim rings for diameter differences up to 50mm.
