VPC XXL DN2370-2420MM flexible coupling for sewage pipes

The VPC XXL DN2370-2420MM flexible coupling is used to connect sewage pipes with external diameters ranging from 2370 to 2420mm. The product belongs to the VPC XXL series designed for nominal diameters from 1000mm to 2800mm.

High-quality construction and materials

The coupling construction is based on three main elements working together in a harmonious manner. The adjustable sealing flange made of EPDM elastomeric rubber according to PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 forms the heart of the sealing system. This material is characterized by exceptional aging resistance and maintains its properties across a wide temperature range.

The self-centering positioning basket made of high-impact plastic features a hinged middle part that allows for separate reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling, resulting in precise fit even with significant differences in external diameters.

Two V4A stainless steel clamping bands (material number 1.4404) belong to the grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids, making them ideal for operation in aggressive sewage environments.

Advanced operating parameters and safety

The system has been designed for a maximum reduction of ≤50mm while maintaining full tightness of the connection. The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference, eliminating the risk of weak points or leaks.

Tightness confirmed up to a pressure of 2.5 bar has been documented by the MPA (Materialprüfungsanstalt) institute. The multiple double sealing profile with a width of 380mm (insertion depth of 190mm on each side) features a bilateral tape guide protrusion and a cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area.

The system maintains a neutral position relative to each other, preventing the rubber from folding during installation.

Versatility of applications and material compatibility

The VPC XXL DN2370-2420MM coupling was developed specifically for pipes made of various materials: cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, stoneware, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP).

The large cylindrical contact surface of the pipes with a minimum width of 60mm on each side guarantees an even distribution of clamping forces during tightening, thanks to the design of the clamping bands and the contact surface area with the positioning basket. The hybrid tensioning system allows for installation from a single position with a torque of 25Nm controlled by a torque wrench.

The product has DIBt-Zulassung Z-42.5-450 for nominal diameters from 100 to 2000. The coupling is particularly resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil and shows resistance to the influence of saline seawater.

The system allows for stepless adjustment with secure shear load transfer, eliminating the need for additional leveling rings thanks to the bilateral tape guide channel and the multiple double sealing profile.
