VPC XXL flexible couplings for large diameters

The VPC XXL DN2395-2445MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting sewage pipes with large external diameters ranging from 2395 to 2445mm. The product belongs to the VPC® XXL family from Funke, which has been specifically developed for extra-large nominal diameters in sewerage systems.

Design and materials ensuring reliability

The design is based on three key components: an adjustable sealing flange made of elastomeric rubber, a centrically self-aligning plastic positioning basket, and two stainless steel clamping bands. This configuration allows for bilateral, separate, and smooth adjustment of the connected materials while maintaining full connection stability.

The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The sealing sleeve material is resistant to oils and gasoline and is particularly resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil. Additionally, the material shows resistance to the effects of saline seawater.

Material versatility and adaptation to different pipe types

The VPC XXL DN2395-2445MM coupling has been designed for the efficient and secure connection of pipes with the same nominal diameter but made of different materials – even with significantly different external diameters resulting from different pipe construction types.

Compatible materials include a wide range: cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC, stoneware, concrete, GRP, and other smooth, corrugated, or ribbed pipe surfaces. This versatility eliminates the need for additional reducer rings when covering a large diameter range.

Advanced technical parameters and reduction process

The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference with a maximum reduction of ≤ 50mm. The articulated middle part allows for separate reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling. The positioning basket and the sealing sleeve are designed to prevent the rubber from sliding or wrinkling during diameter adjustment.

While tightening the stainless steel alloy fastening bands, the sealing sleeve adapts to various external pipe diameters. The sealing sleeve and the positioning basket, together with the two fastening bands, form a compact yet flexible unit with a stable shape.

The product features a multi-groove sealing profile and a cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area with a minimum width of 60mm on each side. The double-sided bead ensures secure guidance of the fastening band.
