Advanced sewage connections
The VPC XXL DN2470-2520MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for the secure connection of large-diameter sewage pipes with external diameters from 2470 to 2520mm. The product enables effective connection of pipes made from various materials - cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, vitrified clay, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastics (GRP). The design allows for a diameter reduction of up to 50mm while maintaining full tightness of the connection.
Advanced design and materials
The heart of the system is an adjustable sealing flange made of high-quality EPDM elastomeric rubber according to PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 or NBR in an oil and gasoline-resistant version. The sleeve features a double sealing profile ensuring reliable protection in accordance with PN-EN 1610. The centrally aligning positioning cage made of high-impact plastic guarantees stability at both low and high temperatures.
Two stainless steel clamping bands made of V2A (1.4301) or V4A (1.4404) allow for bilateral, separate, and smooth adjustment of the connected materials. In the oil-resistant version, V4A steel is used, which belongs to grades particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference while maintaining a cylindrical alignment of the materials.
Stepless adjustment and installation
The design eliminates the need for additional leveling rings by covering a large range of diameters through stepless bilateral adjustment with reliable shear load transfer tested according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295. A cylindrical contact surface with a minimum width of 60mm on each side ensures even force distribution during installation.
The bilateral protrusion guarantees secure guidance of the fastening bands, and the multiple double sealing profile eliminates the risk of rubber folding due to the neutral position of the locating body relative to the sealing sleeve. The articulated middle part allows for separate reduction on each side of the coupling while maintaining centric alignment.
Regulatory compliance and operating parameters
The product holds DIBt Z-42.5-450 approval for nominal diameters from 100 to 2000mm and a tightness certificate up to 2.5 bar issued by the MPA institute for all available diameters. The standard version is made of V2A (1.4301) stainless steel, while the special version resistant to oils and gasoline is made of V4A (1.4404) steel and NBR rubber.
The coupling is characterized by particular resistance to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil, as well as the influence of saline seawater. Leveling rings with a thickness of 15mm (standard) or 20mm (for VPCXXL) are also available, manufactured individually while maintaining a maximum of three rings stacked on top of each other during installation.
The hybrid tensioner system enables installation without the need for a torque wrench for the largest nominal diameters - the tightening of the fastening rings can be performed in one position with a torque of exactly 25 Nm, which must be controlled with a torque wrench to ensure correct installation of the component.
