Innovative solution for large sewage diameters
The VPC XXL DN2570-2620MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for the secure connection of large-diameter sewage pipes. The product enables the effective connection of pipes made from various materials - from cast iron and plastics to stoneware and concrete - even when they differ significantly in external diameters resulting from different design types.
Construction and materials ensuring reliability
The heart of the system is an adjustable sealing collar made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber according to the PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 standard. The sleeve features a multiple double sealing profile, which guarantees reliable tightness in accordance with PN-EN 1610 requirements. The construction also includes a self-centering positioning basket made of high-impact plastic, resistant to both low and high temperatures.
Two V4A (1.4404) stainless steel clamping bands belong to the grades particularly resistant to corrosion and acid action. In the oil-resistant version, nitrile rubber (NBR) is used, which provides exceptional resistance to mineral oils and gasoline, as well as aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil. The material maintains stability even in contact with saline seawater.
Universal application in sewage infrastructure
The VPC XXL system works perfectly in the renovation of existing sewage networks, where it is necessary to connect pipes with different dimensional characteristics without the need for additional compensation rings. In the case of repairing damaged conduits, it enables the seamless introduction of new sections even with significant differences in external diameters.
When constructing new installations, it allows for stepless adjustment on both sides of the coupling with guaranteed resistance to shear forces in accordance with DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards. The large, cylindrical contact surface with a minimum width of 60 mm on each side ensures even distribution of pressure forces around the entire circumference of the pipe.
Operating parameters and installation advantages
The design allows for a diameter reduction of up to 50 mm, where the reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference thanks to the articulated middle part allowing for separate reduction on each side. The hybrid tensioner system allows for installation in one working position at a torque of 25 Nm.
The tightness of the connection has been confirmed by tests up to an internal pressure of 2.5 bar by the MPA institute for all available diameters. The bilateral protrusion ensures secure guidance of the fastening tapes, and the cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area eliminates the risk of rubber folding during installation.
The range of external diameters is 2570-2620 mm.
