VPC XXL Pipe Connection System
The VPC XXL DN2645-2695MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting large-diameter sewage pipes. The product enables a secure and leak-proof connection of pipes made from various materials - cast iron, PP, PE, PVC, stoneware, concrete, and GRP - even when their external diameters differ significantly.
System Construction and Components
The system consists of three main elements: an adjustable sealing collar made of EPDM elastomeric rubber according to PN-EN 681-1 WC/60, a centrally self-aligning plastic centering basket, and two stainless steel V4A (1.4404) clamping bands. The design allows for a diameter reduction of up to a maximum of 50 mm while maintaining full seal integrity.
The sealing sleeve features a double sealing profile ensuring reliable sealing in accordance with PN-EN 1610. The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference thanks to a hinged middle part that allows for separate reduction on each side of the coupling. The centering basket and the sealing sleeve are designed to prevent the rubber from shifting or wrinkling during diameter adjustment.
Chemical Properties and Resistance
The material is resistant to oils and gasoline and is particularly resistant to aggressive substances found in sewage and soil. Additionally, the material is resistant to the effects of saline seawater. The tightness of the system has been confirmed by MPA testing up to a pressure of 2.5 bar for all diameters.
The product meets the requirements of DIBt-Zulassung Z-42.5-450 for nominal diameters from 100 to 2000 mm. The standard version is made of V2A (1.4301) steel, while the special version made of V4A (1.4404) steel provides additional protection against aggressive chemical substances.
Applications and Practical Advantages
The coupling is intended for corrugated, cast iron, stoneware, and glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes, as well as other smooth-walled pipes. The design allows for bilateral, stepless adjustment with certain shear load transfer in accordance with DIN 4060 or DIN EN 295. A large cylindrical contact surface (60 mm on each side) guarantees a stable connection.
The hybrid tensioning system enables installation without the need for a tangent wrench. The tensioning of the clamping rings is performed with a torque of 25 Nm, verified with a torque wrench. The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids.
The bilateral protrusion ensures secure guidance of the fastening strap throughout the entire installation process. The cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area guarantees uniform distribution of the clamping force around the entire circumference of the pipe, thanks to the design of the clamping bands and the contact surface area with the centering basket (min. width 60 mm). The centering body and the sealing sleeve maintain a neutral position relative to each other, eliminating the risk of rubber wrinkling during diameter adjustment.
Installation is easy, fast, and reliable - the compact design ensures certainty in every application without the need for additional leveling rings when there are differences in the external diameters of pipes of the same structural type.
