Corrosion protection for your water heater

Magnesium anode 25x390 with 2” plug is a key element protecting enameled tanks and water heaters, commonly known as “boilers”, against the harmful effects of corrosion. Its task is to protect the inner surface of the tank, which translates into a longer lifespan of the device and cleaner water. This is especially important in the case of older tank models (produced before August 1, 2013) with a capacity of 100, 120 or 140 liters, where this type of anode is a dedicated solution.

Construction and application

The anode consists of several components ensuring tightness and proper operation: the magnesium anode itself, a 2” brass plug, an O-ring and an anode/plug gasket. This construction guarantees reliability and easy installation. A socket wrench with a size of 56…87 is recommended for screwing the anode to the tank. The anode works on the principle of cathodic protection – magnesium, being a chemically more active metal than enameled steel, corrodes in its place, protecting the tank from destruction.
