Corrosion protection in DHW and central heating systems.
The Galmet 38 mm diameter and 400 mm length magnesium anode is a key element protecting central heating and domestic hot water systems against corrosion. Its task is to protect metal elements, such as tanks and pipes, through the sacrificial corrosion process – the anode gradually deteriorates, thereby protecting the rest of the system. Installing a magnesium anode is a simple but extremely important operation that significantly extends the life of the entire installation.
Construction and application
The anode is made of high-quality magnesium alloy, which ensures its effective operation in various conditions. It is equipped with a brass cap with a 5/4 inch thread, which facilitates its installation and removal in standard installations. It is intended for use in tanks with a capacity of 200-400 liters (and in some models with a larger capacity – SGW(S)SLIM, SGW(S)B SLIM 800l and 1000l), manufactured after August 1, 2013. This ensures compatibility with most devices available on the market from Galmet.
Why choose the Galmet magnesium anode?
- Effective protection: Magnesium is an active metal that effectively protects steel against galvanic corrosion.
- Simple installation: The 5/4 inch threaded cap allows for quick and easy installation without special tools.
- Compatibility: Designed for a wide range of Galmet tanks with a capacity of 200 to 400 liters (and more).
- Extended installation life: Regular replacement of the magnesium anode prevents costly repairs caused by corrosion.
- Compliance with standards: The product meets all required safety and quality standards.
- Completeness: The set includes an anode, a brass cap and an O-ring – everything you need for correct installation.
The magnesium anode is a small element that can save a lot of problems and costs associated with repairing or replacing damaged elements of the DHW/central heating installation. Regular inspection of the anode condition and its replacement if necessary is the basis for the proper operation and longevity of the entire heating system.
