HDPE sewage system for demanding applications

The PEHD 200 electrofusion coupling is a key component of the Geberit HDPE sewage system, designed for the reliable connection of DN 200 diameter pipes in demanding industrial and construction applications. Made of black PE-80 grade PE-HD polyethylene, it serves as a component in drainage and sewage installations.

Construction and technical parameters

The component, with an overall length of 150 mm, is equipped with two socket connections for electrofusion welding, each with a length of 75 mm and a wall thickness of 7.7 mm. The simple structural design ensures optimal medium flow while maintaining full joint tightness.

An outer pipe diameter of 200 mm and a nominal connection diameter of DN 200 guarantee compatibility with standard HDPE systems used in pressure installations. The PE-80 grade polyethylene (PE) material provides high mechanical strength and resistance to aggressive media.

Material properties and chemical resistance

The Geberit HDPE system is characterized by exceptional resistance to approximately 95% of all standard bases, acids, and chemicals, making it an ideal solution for industrial and laboratory applications. The products are also UV resistant thanks to special stabilizing additives—the system can be stored outdoors for many months without material degradation.

The construction ensures resistance to shocks, drops, impacts, and short-term pressure exposure without the risk of cracking or permanent deformation. The connection surfaces are left in a raw state, providing optimal conditions for the electrofusion welding process.

Applications and installation scope

The coupling finds wide application in building water drainage systems, in both gravity and vacuum installations. It is particularly recommended for the Geberit Pluvia flat roof vacuum drainage system.

The system is suitable for installation in soil, concrete, and during bridge construction—it also performs well in commercial and laboratory facilities requiring high chemical resistance of the installation.

The connection of components is carried out via electrofusion welding using dedicated Geberit machines or alternatively via butt welding—the method is selected individually based on the specifics of the designed sewage system.
