Pressurized expansion tank HWB-8LX for central heating systems, 3/4 inch connection, series: HeatWave

Pressure expansion vessel for central heating systems

This pressure expansion vessel from the HeatWave series, with a capacity of 8 liters, is designed for use with closed central heating systems. Its function is to compensate for the thermal expansion of the water in the system, maintain stable working pressure, and protect against excessive pressure increases. An essential element of every modern heating system, ensuring its efficient and safe operation.

Construction and user features

The HWB-8LX vessel is characterized by a solid construction and the use of high-quality materials. The butyl membrane guarantees long-term tightness and resistance to conditions prevailing in the heating installation. The 3/4 inch connection made of stainless steel or chrome-plated ensures a durable and tight connection with the installation. Additionally, a safety valve with an o-ring seal minimizes the risk of leaks. The whole is protected by a polyurethane external coating applied on an epoxy primer, which provides resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage.

Application and benefits

The HWB-8LX expansion vessel is used in central heating systems in single-family homes, apartments, and public buildings. It absorbs fluctuations in water volume resulting from temperature changes, maintaining constant pressure in the installation. This translates to:

  • Protection of installation elements: Stable pressure reduces the mechanical loads on pipes, radiators, and the circulation pump, extending their service life.
  • Energy efficiency: Maintaining optimal pressure allows for more efficient operation of the circulation pump, which translates to lower energy consumption.
  • Comfort of use: Eliminates the risk of sudden pressure surges and noise in the installation.
  • Safety: Protects against damage to installation elements caused by excessive pressure.

The vessel is designed to operate at a maximum pressure of 6 bar and a temperature of 99°C, and the initial air pressure in the membrane is 1.7 bar – these are standard parameters for most domestic heating installations. It can temporarily operate at a pressure of up to 12 bar.

• Butyl diaphragm
• Stainless steel or chrome plated connection
• Safety valve with O-ring seal
• Polyurethane outer coating over an epoxy primer
