Pressurized expansion tank SWB-24LX for solar systems, series: Solar Wave, 3/4 inch connection
Pressure expansion vessel for solar installations – a key element of an efficient system
This expansion vessel, designed specifically for use in solar systems, ensures the stability and safety of the entire system. Its task is to compensate for changes in the volume of liquid in the installation caused by temperature fluctuations, which allows maintaining optimal working pressure and preventing damage. Whether you are an installer or an end user, understanding the role of this component is crucial for the correct operation and longevity of the solar system.
Construction and application – durability and reliability
The SWB-24LX vessel is characterized by a solid construction of a steel tank, divided by a flexible membrane into a gas and water part. The membrane made of butyl provides high chemical and mechanical resistance, guaranteeing long-term tightness. The stainless steel connection is an additional element protecting against corrosion and mechanical damage. A safety valve with an o-ring seal minimizes the risk of leaks and ensures safe operation of the system. The whole is covered with a polyurethane external coating applied on an epoxy primer – this is protection against the influence of atmospheric factors and corrosion.
The vessel is designed to operate in solar systems with a temperature of up to 130°C and a maximum pressure of 10 bar. Its capacity of 24 liters allows for effective compensation of changes in the volume of liquid in typical solar installations. A 3/4 inch connection facilitates integration with the existing piping system.
Advantages in practice – for the installer and user
- Compensation for thermal expansion: The vessel automatically reacts to changes in the temperature of the solar fluid, preventing pressure build-up in the system and potential failures.
- Maintaining constant pressure: Stable working pressure translates into efficient operation of the circulating pump and optimal heat distribution.
- Protection against damage: The expansion vessel protects the elements of the solar installation against overloads and pressure fluctuations, extending their lifespan.
- Convenient installation: A 3/4 inch connection and compact dimensions facilitate installation even in tight spaces.
- Durable construction: The use of high-quality materials guarantees reliable operation for a long time.
- Minimizing heat loss: Maintaining optimal pressure in the system translates into efficient heat distribution without energy losses.
- Automatic fluid replenishment: In the event of minor leaks, the vessel automatically replenishes the solar fluid, minimizing the risk of reduced system performance.
