The MAGNA3 D 40-120 F circulation pump is an advanced solution for circulating liquids in heating, air conditioning and cooling systems. Designed for both new and modernized installations, it offers high energy efficiency and precise flow control. Equipped with a range of communication interfaces, it allows integration with modern building management systems (BMS). Thanks to its twin-head design, it provides reliability and redundancy in critical applications.
Construction and application
The MAGNA3 D 40-120 F is characterized by a solid construction with a housing made of cast iron GG 25 (GJL-250), which guarantees durability and corrosion resistance. It is designed to operate with liquids at temperatures from -10°C to +110°C and a maximum working pressure of 16 bar. It finds application in:
- central heating installations,
- air conditioning and cooling systems,
- ground source heat pump installations,
- solar heating installations,
- industrial installations requiring precise flow control.
The pump is equipped with flanged inlet and outlet connections according to EN 1092-2 standard. The connection length is 250 mm.
Functionality and communication
MAGNA3 D 40-120 F offers a wide range of adjustment and monitoring options. It has a built-in motor controller enabling stepless speed control. It supports communication protocols such as PROFIBUS, RS-485, EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU, BACnet MS/TP and LON/LONWorks, which facilitates integration with building automation systems. Additionally, it is equipped with 0-10 V / 2-10 V and 0-20 mA / 4-20 mA interface signals for remote control and monitoring. The presence of a potential-free changeover contact allows signaling the pump operating status. The pump also has a flow limitation (FLOW LIMIT) function to prevent exceeding the nominal flow rate.
- Performance: The maximum head is 12 meters with a nominal flow rate of 13.3 m³/h. The motor power consumption is 0.427 kW at a supply voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
- Communication: Support for many communication protocols ensures flexible integration with various building control systems.
- Regulation: Stepless speed control allows for optimizing pump operation to current installation needs, which translates into energy savings.
- Safety: Protection class IPX4 provides protection against splashing water. Insulation class F guarantees safe use.
- Construction: The twin-head increases system reliability and enables emergency operation in the event of failure of one of the heads. A check valve on the discharge side prevents backflow of liquid in the non-operating head of a twin-head pump.
