Submersible well pump – a reliable water source

The Grundfos SQ 2-85 submersible pump is an efficient and reliable device designed for drawing water from deep wells, as well as supplying water to residential buildings, small water supply systems or irrigation systems. Its compact design and high efficiency of the permanent magnet motor make it an ideal solution for both professionals and home users.

Construction and application

The SQ 2-85 pump is designed to operate in wells with a minimum diameter of 76 mm. Made of high-quality stainless steel (grade 304 / 1.4301) it provides long-lasting resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage. The built-in check valve prevents water from flowing back after the pump is switched off, which facilitates its restart and protects the motor. Thanks to the use of floating impellers, the pump is resistant to the action of sand – it can operate in water containing up to 50 g/m³ of sand. 230V power supply allows for easy installation in standard electrical installations.

Performance and operating parameters

The SQ 2-85 pump offers a capacity of up to 2.6 m³/h and a head of up to 862.76 kPa (85 meters of water column). The motor power is 1.15 kW, and the rated current is 8.4 A. The length of the power cable is 1.5 m, which provides flexibility during installation. The pump operates in continuous mode (S1) and is protected against dry running, overvoltage and undervoltage, overload and overheating – which guarantees safe and trouble-free operation for a long time. The IP68 degree of protection means complete sealing and the possibility of immersing the pump in water to a depth of 150 meters. The pump diameter is 74 mm and the total length is 825 mm. The outlet connection is a BSPP-G internal gas tapered thread with a diameter of 1 ¼ inch (32).
