Automatic power switch 4‑pole 100 A HIC410A
Uninterrupted power switching – for facilities where power cannot stop
The device automatically switches between two power sources – e.g., the public grid and a generator – without manual intervention. It operates in I-0-II mode, which provides three stable positions: source 1, off, source 2. When voltage drops on one input, the motor‑driven mechanism automatically transfers the load to the other, maintaining power continuity.
Protection and resilience under fault conditions
A short‑circuit rating of 50 kA ensures the device can withstand extreme fault currents – even when using gl‑gG fuses – protecting the entire switchgear from damage. The internal short‑time current withstand capability is 7 kA, further confirming its robustness in transient events. At 400 V it can safely make and break loads up to 65 kW – sufficient for large groups of consumers such as pumps, fans or air‑conditioning systems.
Installation and safety features
Designed for mounting in switchgear panels, it is installed on a DIN rail or directly onto a board. It does not require additional spatial clearance – its fixed built‑in construction provides a permanent connection. It includes an integrated motor drive – no external control or optional accessories are needed for operation. It functions simultaneously as a main, safety and maintenance disconnect – allowing the circuit to be physically isolated during service. The locking mechanism prevents accidental switching while in operation.
For the installer – simplicity and precision
The main contact connections are screw‑type – easy to assemble and verify. The IP20 protection rating guards against finger contact, but it is not intended for wet or outdoor installations. There are no auxiliary contacts or voltage release devices – the unit operates solely as a mechanically actuated switch with electric drive. It is not an emergency stop device (no “STOP” button), but serves as an isolator in an SZR system.
For the user – safety and compatibility
Four poles disconnect not only phases L1–L3 but also the neutral (N). This is essential to avoid circulating currents between sources and to ensure proper operation of residual‑current protective devices after switching. The device operates at 380–415 V AC and 50/60 Hz – compatible with most European industrial and commercial installations.
