Safe and automatic switching between mains and generator

The device enables automatic load switching between power sources — mains and generator — under full load, without the need for manual intervention. It operates in three fixed positions: I (mains) – 0 (off) – II (generator), with a physical latch that prevents both sources from being engaged simultaneously. An integrated motor drive performs the switching based on a control signal, and an additional normally closed contact indicates the current position. It has no make‑break contacts — only one auxiliary normally closed contact.

Installation and construction

Designed for mounting in distribution panels as a permanently fixed device. Connection of the main contacts is performed exclusively via cable clamps — no busbars or special mounting elements are required. Protection class IP00 indicates no touch protection — the unit must be installed in a closed enclosure that ensures personnel safety. It is not suitable for front‑mounting centrally or on a DIN rail.

Functions and applications

It simultaneously serves as a main disconnect, safety, and maintenance switch — allowing physical isolation of the circuit during service or fault conditions. It handles a continuous current of 800 A at 380–415 V AC, with a making capacity of 526 kW at 400 V. The rated conditional short‑circuit current is 50 kA (with gl‑gG fuses), and the short‑time withstand current is 64 kA — providing stability during emergency switching. Switching occurs with a brief power interruption — it is not an uninterrupted solution. The device complies with DIN EN 60947-3 and DIN EN 60947-6-1, confirming its suitability for emergency power systems in industrial and commercial facilities.
