For the installer – a simple, reliable element for controlling circuit breakers

The closing coil HWX025H operates at 24–30 V in both AC and DC circuits – no need to worry whether the system uses alternating or direct current. This is one of those features that simplifies installation: you don't need two versions of coils for different control types.

It is designed exclusively for use with air circuit breakers of the hw+ series, including motor circuit breakers and cam switches. It does not function as a standalone relay – it has no changeover, normally open, or normally closed contacts. It is solely a control element that closes the circuit within the circuit breaker when voltage is applied. Simple. Effective.

What ensures safety and durability?

• IP4X protection class – protects against ingress of objects larger than 1 mm, which is sufficient for installations in distribution boards.
• Temperature range from -25°C to +70°C – operates even in unheated rooms or under high temperatures inside cabinets.
• Insulation voltage 480 V and surge voltage 6000 V – resistance to overvoltages that may occur during motor starting or network faults.
• Overvoltage category II – suitable for final and distribution circuits where the risk of overvoltages is moderate.

Power consumption is only 5 VA in steady-state operation – low energy usage. Maximum power at the moment of startup may reach 300 VA, but only briefly during switching-on – it does not overload the control system.

Why does it work without issues?

There are no "magic" features here. It is a pure electromagnetic coil – no electronics, no microcontrollers. It does not fail due to voltage fluctuations within the 24–30 V range. No calibration required. No configuration needed. Simply apply voltage – and the circuit breaker closes.

Installation is standard: connect to the control terminals of the hw+ circuit breaker, then verify operation manually. Hager's installation manual clearly shows where and how to connect – there are no traps.
