Draw‑out air disconnect switch 400A 3P HW1W304DS
Pull-out air disconnect switch 400A 3P – solution for industrial and commercial installations
This device is not just a disconnect – it is a safe, mechanically locked isolation point that allows controlled and secure circuit disconnection during service, renovation, or fault conditions. It is designed for mounting in switchgear panels where high reliability and quick access to the contacts are required.
It has three poles and is built with a pull‑out design – meaning it can be safely withdrawn from the enclosure, even under voltage (when proper procedures are applied), for inspection or replacement. The latching mechanism prevents accidental closing during operation – a key safety feature for personnel.
The rated continuous current is 400 A, and the short‑circuit withstand current is 55 kA for 1 second – ensuring the device can endure extreme overloads or faults without damage. The operating voltage can reach 690 V AC, and the insulation is rated for 1000 V, providing an extra safety layer in high‑potential circuits.
An integrated motor drive enables remote operation – ideal for automation systems or where panel access is limited. An optional voltage release can automatically disconnect the circuit if the voltage drops below a set threshold.
It has IP2X on the front – protecting against finger contact but not hermetic. This is a typical solution for indoor switchgear panels where moisture or dust is not a concern. It is neither a return switch nor an emergency stop – its role is pure disconnection, in accordance with IEC 60947-3.
Four auxiliary changeover contacts allow integration with control systems – e.g., signalling a “disconnected” state or locking other devices. There are no normally closed or normally open auxiliary contacts – therefore it is not intended for measurement or status indication of the on‑state.
Central front mounting and intermediate mounting provide flexible adaptation to existing panel constructions. It operates in temperatures from ‑25 °C to +70 °C – suitable for harsh industrial environments as well as climate‑controlled rooms.
Complies with RoHS and REACH – meaning no hazardous substances in the materials. It meets DIN VDE 0660-107 and IEC 60947-3 standards.
It does not have an emergency‑stop function – it does not replace a circuit breaker. Its purpose: safe disconnection, not overload protection.
