Withdrawable air circuit breaker with Sentinel trip unit, 1600 A, 3‑pole, 42 kA
This device is a withdrawable air circuit breaker designed for protecting circuits with high rated currents—especially in industrial installations and main switchgear. Its construction allows safe and rapid replacement without disconnecting cables, significantly reducing service time.
The Sentinel trip unit provides precise response to overloads and short circuits, and its modular design enables easy integration of additional functions—e.g., an optional motor drive. The device has no built‑in drive but is ready for mounting one, offering flexibility in automation system design.
Main circuit terminals are not fixed—the connection is made via a separate housing part. This solution simplifies installation in confined spaces and allows the device to be replaced without moving cables. A visual trip indicator shows the device’s state—closed or tripped—without opening the enclosure.
Ground‑fault protection is not integrated—if insulation damage protection is required, an external module must be added. Likewise, there is no built‑in undervoltage trip; its function must be provided by additional equipment.
IP2X protection means the device guards against contact with fingers or tools larger than 12 mm, but it does not protect against dust or water. Therefore, installation is performed only in enclosures that shield it from the external environment.
Built‑in auxiliary contacts (4 changeover) allow signalling the breaker status (e.g., closed/open) to SCADA or control systems. The absence of normally closed or normally open contacts means there are no extra contacts for other circuits—only the 4 changeover contacts are provided.
The rated making capacity of 42 kA at 400 V ensures safety even under extreme short‑circuit conditions—such as those found in large switchgear or high‑power sources. An operating voltage range of 440 V to 690 V makes it suitable for both industrial three‑phase systems and high‑voltage distribution networks.
Closing time is 45 ms, delivering fast response to manual or remote commands. Full‑load losses (358.6 W) are low for a device of this power, contributing to the overall energy efficiency of the installation.
It cannot be mounted on a DIN TH rail—it is a stationary unit intended for installation in distribution cabinets with dedicated brackets and guides.
