Draw-out circuit breaker with Sentinel trip unit 42kA 400A 4P HW1N404DB
Air circuit breaker with Sentinel trip unit, 400 A, 4 poles
This device is a withdrawable air circuit breaker with a short‑circuit rating of 42 kA at 400 V, designed for industrial and commercial installations where reliability and easy service access are required. Its construction enables safe and rapid replacement without disconnecting conductors – the entire unit slides out of the enclosure, significantly reducing maintenance time.
The built‑in tripping indicator allows quick visual diagnosis of the device state – no need to open the enclosure to check whether the breaker is in the “off” position. This is especially useful for rapid inspections or in hard‑to‑reach locations.
Four auxiliary switching contacts are standardly integrated – they can be used for status signalling (e.g., closed/open), controlling auxiliary circuits, or integration with SCADA systems. There are no make‑before‑break contacts nor additional normally‑closed contacts – the configuration is fixed and optimised for control functions.
Main circuit connections are not mounted directly to the enclosure – they require a separate enclosure part (cassette), allowing modularity and easy mounting in various cabinet types. The device has no built‑in motor drive, but supports an optional drive – providing flexibility for automation or remote‑control needs.
Ground‑fault protection and over‑voltage trip unit are not integrated – this device functions as a pure over‑current breaker, without additional protective features. An external protection device is required if ground‑fault or over‑voltage protection is needed.
The IP2X protection rating guarantees protection against contact with live parts, but does not provide protection against dust or water – it is intended solely for installation in closed cabinets. It cannot be mounted on a DIN rail – its construction requires a specialised “cassette” type enclosure.
The rated voltage 440–690 V allows its use in both 400 V and 690 V systems – ideal for installations with industrial motors or distribution transformers. The continuous current 400 A matches typical loads in large production halls, data centres, or medium‑voltage distribution systems.
All parameters comply with the EU Declaration of Conformity for the HW1 series. The device does not contain an internal protection – it must be used together with an appropriate trip unit (e.g., Sentinel) and external protective devices.
