Withdrawable air circuit breaker with Sentinel trip unit, 800 A, 3P, 42 kA
This device is a high‑short‑circuit‑capacity air circuit breaker designed for use in medium‑ and large‑load distribution panels. Its draw‑out construction allows safe and quick replacement without disconnecting conductors – the installer can pull the entire unit out of the housing for service or replacement without exposure to live wires.
Four built‑in auxiliary switching contacts enable monitoring of the breaker status (closed/open) and integration with automation systems or remote signalling. There are no making contacts – the device is intended for protection and disconnection, not for load control. A visual trip indicator confirms the device’s state – no guessing whether it is in the “off” or “on” position.
The rated short‑circuit breaking capacity of 42 kA at 400 V means the breaker can safely interrupt very large fault currents typical of industrial installations or large commercial buildings. The rated current of 800 A allows handling of large circuits with motors, heaters or other high‑power equipment. Insulation voltage is 1000 V with a withstand voltage of 12 kV, providing safety even during brief over‑voltages.
The connections are not fixed – they are linked via a separate housing part. This means installation requires appropriate connection modules (e.g., busbars or cables with suitable terminals), which are supplied separately. There is no possibility of DIN‑rail mounting – the device is intended for mounting in switchgear cabinets with a suitable supporting structure.
Ground‑fault protection is not built in – if protection against earth leakage is required, it must be provided by additional devices (e.g., residual‑current circuit breakers). There is also no built‑in motor drive, but one can be added optionally if remote or automatic control is needed (e.g., in UPS systems or building automation).
Closing response time is 45 ms, providing fast reaction to manual or remote commands. Total power loss at full load is about 64.6 W – a low value for a device of this class, resulting in reduced heating during prolonged operation.
IP2X protection rating provides only finger protection – it does not protect against dust or water. The device must be installed in a closed switchgear cabinet with an appropriate IP class.
All parameters comply with standard PN-EN 60947-2. The breaker is designed as a component of the hw+ system, meaning compatibility with other Hager modules: trip units, drives and accessories.
