Stationary circuit breaker with sentinel trip unit 55kA 1000A 3P HW1M310FB
Stationary circuit breaker with sentinel trip unit, 1000 A, 3P, 55 kA
This device is a fixed, non-withdrawable version of an air circuit breaker with an integrated sentinel trip unit – designed for installation in low-voltage switchboards where high switching capacity and stable protection of high-current circuits are required. It operates in systems with voltages up to 690 V, and its short-circuit breaking capacity of 55 kA at 400 V makes it suitable for medium- and high-power industrial and commercial installations.
It features three poles and busbar connections – meaning it is not mounted on a DIN rail nor used as a withdrawable module. Instead, it is permanently fixed to the switchboard structure, ensuring rigidity and vibration resistance. The rated current of 1000 A allows handling of large loads – e.g., transformers, motors, or distribution lines.
The built-in four changeover auxiliary contacts enable status signaling (ON/OFF) and integration with automation or control systems. There is no status indicator on the handle itself – but a trip indicator is present, facilitating quick fault diagnosis without the need to open the enclosure.
The IP2X degree of protection provides basic protection against contact with live parts – sufficient for installations in enclosed technical rooms or switchboards. There is no integrated earth fault protection or undervoltage trip unit – these functions must be added externally if required.
The option to add an optional motor operator enables remote control – ideal for automation systems or where access to the device is limited. However, the absence of a built-in operator means the device is manually operated – via a push button.
It contains no normally open auxiliary contacts nor internal protection – it is a pure air circuit breaker requiring external overcurrent protection (e.g., an overcurrent relay or electronic trip unit). This provides flexibility: the installer can select exactly the type of protection that matches the load characteristics.
In practice:
- For the installer, it is a solid basic component – easy to integrate into both old and new switchboards.
- For the end user, it is a reliable protection boundary between the network and the load – especially when starting motors or transformers.
- It requires no special tools for installation – but precision is required during busbar connection.
