The built‑in Sentinel trip unit provides selective overload and short‑circuit protection, and its configuration is adapted to installation requirements without the need for additional modules. The device does not have an integrated earth‑fault protection – if such protection is required, it must be implemented externally.

Main connections are designed for busbar connections, eliminating the need to mount cables directly to terminals – this facilitates integration with switchgear busbars and reduces installation time. Installation is not performed on a DIN rail; the device is permanently mounted to the switchgear frame, ensuring stability even under high electrodynamic forces.

A benefit is the trip indicator – it allows quick visual diagnosis of the device’s status without opening the enclosure. This is especially useful during inspections or faults when response time matters.

Four auxiliary changeover contacts (neither make‑nor‑break) enable integration with control and signaling systems – e.g., to indicate “on”/“off” status or trigger alarms. However, there is no built‑in motor drive – it can be supplied as an external option, providing flexibility for upgrades.
