The device is intended for use in low‑voltage switchgear where high reliability and the ability to quickly disconnect a circuit during a fault are required. It is designed as a main component in power supply systems, especially where large short‑circuit currents occur – e.g., in data centres, production halls or large commercial facilities.

It has four poles and is equipped with an electronic Sentinel trip unit that provides overload and short‑circuit protection. The trip unit features an LCD display and adjustable settings, allowing precise tailoring of protection parameters to the load characteristics without the need to replace modules. The option to activate neutral‑conductor protection further enhances safety in circuits with nonlinear loads.

A built‑in trip indicator enables rapid diagnosis of the device’s status without opening the enclosure – useful for both routine checks and fault conditions. The device does not have an integrated motorised drive but supports an optional drive, offering flexibility for automation or remote control.

Main‑circuit connections are not fixed – they require a separate enclosure part, which simplifies installation and service. It cannot be mounted on a DIN rail; it is a “draw‑out” type device that is inserted into a special supporting structure in the switchgear. The IP2X protection rating means it does not protect against finger contact, so external enclosure protection is required.

Making capacity: 66 kA at 400 V, meaning it can safely interrupt very high short‑circuit currents without internal damage. At 230 V and 400 V the operating short‑circuit rating Ics is 55 kA, confirming its resistance to repeated fault conditions. Operates in a voltage range of 440 to 690 V AC.

Internal resistance (50 µΩ) and power loss (187.4 W at Iu) are low, reducing heating and energy loss during normal operation. Mechanical life is 25 000 cycles, electrical life 6 000 cycles. This is not a device for frequent on/off switching but for stable protection of main circuits.

It does not include built‑in ground‑fault protection or an under‑voltage trip unit – if these functions are needed, they must be added as separate modules.
