A residual current circuit breaker with an overcurrent component is a key element of protection in every electrical installation. Characteristics and application

The ADC966D circuit breaker is characterized by a tripping characteristic C, which means that it is resistant to short-term current surges, such as those occurring during the starting of electric motors or other devices with high power consumption. This ensures that the device does not switch off unnecessarily, while effectively reacting to overloads and short circuits. Type AC indicates that the circuit breaker detects both direct and alternating currents with a frequency of 50Hz.

Construction and mounting

The ADC966D circuit breaker has been designed with ease of installation and convenience in mind. Its width of 2 modules allows for efficient use of space in the switchboard. It has screw terminals allowing the connection of wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² (solid) and from 1 to 16 mm² (stranded). Additionally, the circuit breaker has a lock preventing accidental opening of the circuit during operation. The degree of protection IP2X provides protection against touching with a finger and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Flush mounting is also possible thanks to the appropriate design of the device. It is worth noting the presence of double mounting clips facilitating the replacement of the device without the need to unscrew neighboring elements (in 10kA versions).
