Power switch I-0-II 4P 1600A – manual source switching in high‑current installations

This device is a four‑pole, three‑position I-0-II type switch, designed for manual power transfer between two sources at a continuous current of 1600 A. It is a disconnector with a visible break — serving as a main, safety and maintenance disconnector. In the “0” position each pole is physically disconnected, providing safe access during maintenance. The latching mechanism locks the handle in the off position, preventing accidental re‑energisation.

The control element is a long black rotating handle — allowing easy and safe operation even in confined spaces. The device has no auxiliary contacts, no built‑in motor drive, and no optional voltage trigger — it is a purely mechanical solution, without electronic components that could fail or require maintenance.

The construction is for permanent mounting — intended to be fixed directly on a wall or structure within a switchboard. It is not suitable for front‑central mounting, intermediate mounting, or 4‑hole panels — but this does not preclude permanent installation. According to its design, it is installed as a fixed element in a distribution system.

The IP00 protection rating indicates no protection against touch or dust — therefore it must be installed in a closed enclosure or panel with an appropriate protection class. Rated voltage: 380–690 V AC, maximum insulation voltage: 1000 V (per manufacturer data). Operating frequency: 50–60 Hz.

At 400 V it can safely connect loads up to 1053 kW (category AC-1), operate with motor starters (AC-23) at 1250 A and 562 kW, and with motors without starters (AC-3) up to 710 kW. Rated conditional short‑circuit current Iq = 100 kA and short‑time current Icw = 78 kA ensure resistance to fault currents in large industrial installations.

Applications: switching between public grid and emergency generator, isolating circuits for service, dual‑source power systems. Not suitable as an emergency stop switch. Operates in the temperature range –20 °C to +70 °C — making it suitable for both air‑conditioned rooms and unheated halls.
