Power switch with motor drive 200 A HIB420M
Power transfer switch with motor drive – automatic switching between sources
This device is used for safe and automatic switching between two power sources – e.g., the main grid and an emergency generator. It has an integrated motor drive that performs the switching without manual intervention, making it ideal for installations requiring power continuity: hotels, hospitals, data centers, or production lines.
It is designed as main, safety and maintenance disconnect – allowing physical isolation of the circuit for service or fault. It does not function as an emergency stop: it does not instantly cut off current in case of a sudden fault, but provides controlled switching between states.
Installation and wiring – specific requirements
The device is permanently mounted and intended solely for installation in distribution panels. Installation on a DIN rail, in a 4‑hole panel, or front‑center is not possible – the only correct method is to install inside a properly prepared panel.
Connection of the main circuits is done via cable clamps. For 200 A current the minimum copper conductor cross‑section is 95 mm², maximum – 120 mm². Flexible busbars with a cross‑section of 2 × 95 mm² can also be used. Bolt tightening torque is: recommended 20 N·m, maximum 45 N·m – exceeding this limit may damage the clamp.
Control is performed via control circuit terminals (312–317, 313–317, 316–317, etc.). Control wires should have a cross‑section of 1.5–2.5 mm². Access to the terminal strip is required for their connection – this requires removing the top cover. After wiring, the cover must be closed again.
Indicators and operating status
The device has two LED indicators:
green – indicates presence of supply voltage
red – indicates manual operation mode or device unavailability
These indicators are integral to the device and visible directly on its enclosure – no external monitoring required.
Durability and safety
Operates at voltage 380–690 V AC, continuous current 200 A
Switching capacity at 400 V: 131 kW
Rated conditional short‑circuit current: 50 kA
Rated withstand short‑time current: 12 kA
Front‑panel protection rating: IP00 – the device must be enclosed in a distribution board
There are no optional voltage release devices or other accessories. The device operates solely as designed: a pure switching mechanism with motor drive.
Installation and commissioning may be performed only by qualified personnel. In case of damage – even minor – full replacement of the device is recommended.
