Motor‑driven power transfer switch – safe and automatic source switching
This device is not a regular disconnect switch. It is an automatic transfer switch (ATS) with an integrated motor drive, designed for continuous, reliable operation in dual‑source power systems – e.g., mains + generator or mains + photovoltaic. It functions as a main, safety and maintenance disconnect, meaning it can safely isolate the circuit during service, and its locking mechanism prevents accidental re‑closing.
A switching capacity of 2106 kW at 400 V allows it to safely handle large loads – from industrial machinery to HVAC systems or water‑pumping stations. Continuous current 3200 A and a short‑circuit rating 78 kA make it suitable for high‑power installations where failure is not an option.
The motor drive operates automatically – no manual intervention required. In the event of a voltage loss on one source, the device automatically redirects the load to the other source without delay and with minimal surge risk. It operates in the voltage range 380–415 V AC, and its four‑pole construction guarantees complete disconnection of all conductors, including the neutral.
It has two normally‑closed auxiliary contacts that can be used for status signalling (e.g., “Source A active” or “Switching in progress”) in control or SCADA systems. There is no voltage trigger – it does not react to voltage dips, only to loss of voltage or a control command.
Installation is fixed – for distribution boards, mounted on a mounting plate. It is not suitable for DIN‑rail or front mounting. Protection class IP00 means there is no touch protection, so it must be enclosed within the board cabinet. This is not a device for open‑air installation.
It is a key component for installations requiring power continuity: hospitals, data centres, production halls, transport systems or public buildings. It does not function as an emergency stop switch – it is not intended for rapid manual shutdown in urgent situations (other devices serve that purpose). Its purpose is source‑to‑source switching, not disconnecting sources in case of a fault.
The built‑in drive and locking are standard – not optional. There is also no option for an additional voltage trigger or other control modules. The device operates exactly as designed: simple, robust, without unnecessary features.
