Power switch with motorized drive – safe and remote power source change

This device is not a simple disconnect switch – it is a system that ensures power continuity in critical installations, where even a few seconds of interruption can have consequences. Built as a permanent device mounted in distribution panels, it allows safe, remote switching between two voltage sources – e.g., mains / generator – without the need for physical access to the panel.

It has four poles and is designed for operation at 380–415 V, with a continuous current of 800 A. It can safely connect and disconnect loads up to 526 kW at 400 V – meaning it can handle large motors or heating systems. The rated conditional short‑circuit current of 50 kA guarantees that the device will withstand extreme fault conditions in industrial installations.

Operates automatically, with manual intervention possible

The motorized drive built into the unit enables remote switching between positions I-0-II – without approaching the panel. It switches automatically under load, eliminating the risk of power interruption during source change. In every position an auxiliary switch (SÖ) operates, indicating status – ideal for monitoring systems.

If the drive fails or rapid intervention is needed, a manual emergency handle is available. The device features a locking mechanism that allows physical lock‑out in the “0” position – e.g., during maintenance or repair. A lockable extension can also be added to prevent unauthorized operation.

Safety and installation – designed for professionals

This is a safety disconnect and a maintenance disconnect compliant with DIN EN 60947-3 and DIN EN 60947-6-1. It must not be mounted on a DIN rail – the unit is fixed directly to a mounting plate inside the distribution board. Cable terminals are large and well suited for connecting heavy conductors, as well as for use with intermediate conductors (current transformers).

The IP00 protection rating means it does not protect against dust or water – but that is not its purpose. Its function is safe switching under voltage, while environmental protection is provided by the panel enclosure.

There are no voltage release devices or optional modules – this device does one thing: it switches between two sources safely and reliably.
