Power switch with motorized drive 125 A HIB412M

Motorized power switching device – HIB412M

This device is not a simple disconnect – it is an automatic transfer system between two power sources, designed for continuous, safe, and reliable operation in critical installations. It has four poles, is intended for mounting in distribution panels, and functions as a main, safety, and maintenance disconnect – thus meeting all requirements for circuits where a power interruption is unacceptable.

The built‑in motorized drive allows remote operation without physical access to the unit. It can be started automatically (e.g., after a network fault) or manually via external control. It operates in three stable positions: I – source 1, 0 – off, II – source 2. Switching between them occurs under load, without power interruption to the loads.

There are no auxiliary contacts – this is not a signalling device – but its construction enables easy connection of external control through terminals 312–317 (AUTO), 313–317 (switch to 0) or 316–317 (hold). An LED indicates power status and operating mode – red for manual mode or unavailable, green for ready to operate.

Cable terminals are designed for cross‑sections from 35 mm² to 50 mm² (copper), with a tightening torque of 8.3 N·m. They allow connection of rigid or flexible busbars, facilitating integration with existing installations. Maximum operating power at 400 V is 82 kW, and short‑circuit withstand rating is 100 kA – meaning the device can endure extreme network conditions.

This is a fixed‑mount device – it is not mounted on a DIN rail or front panel. It has an IP00 protection rating, so it must be enclosed in a distribution board. It does not have an emergency‑stop function (i.e., it cannot be “quick‑off” like an EPO), but it includes a manual emergency handle for manual transfer in case of drive failure.

Compliant with DIN EN 60947-3 and DIN EN 60947-6-1 (standards 60947‑3 and 60947‑6‑1). No additional voltage release devices or optional modules are required – it operates as a complete unit. All installation and service operations should be performed by qualified personnel – the absence of voltage must be verified with appropriate test equipment before any work.

Why it works?

When the main grid fails and a generator starts, this switch automatically changes the source. No human intervention is needed. No risk of manual switching errors. No risk of a power interruption to machines or safety systems.

It is a solution for facilities such as hospitals, data centers, critical ventilation systems, production lines, or energy infrastructure – where even a few seconds of downtime can have serious consequences.

There is no “installation aesthetics” or “solid construction” marketing slogan here. There is: short‑circuit protection, remote control capability, load‑transfer switching, three stable positions, manual intervention, and norm compliance. All of this in one device.
