Power switch with motorized drive 250 A HIB425M
Power switch with motor drive – solution for dual power source systems
This device is not a simple disconnect – it is an automatic switch between two low‑voltage sources, designed for continuous, safe operation in installations requiring uninterrupted power availability. It features an integrated motor drive that enables automatic load switching without manual intervention. It operates in three stable positions: I–0–II, meaning it can be completely disconnected from both sources (position 0) or connected to either one – all without interrupting current flow.
For the installer: easy mounting and full control
Mounting is designed for distribution boards – no special front‑end constructions or DIN‑rail mounting required. Cable terminals allow direct wire connection, and their large cross‑section eases work with heavy conductors. The device has a locking mechanism that provides a physical lock in any position – ideal for service or maintenance work. You can add a padlock for an extra layer of safety during technical tasks.
The built‑in normally closed auxiliary contact (SÖ) signals the current switch position, so it can be linked to a SCADA system, control panel, or indicator lights. You no longer have to guess whether the unit is in position I or II – you get electrical confirmation.
For the end user: uninterrupted availability and safety
If you have a system with a standby generator or two power feeds (e.g., mains + UPS), this switch works as a “no‑break” transfer switch. In the event of a failure of one source, it automatically switches to the other without interrupting device operation. No manual toggling is needed – meaning, for example, a server room, medical systems, or production lines stay up.
It has a rated current of 250 A and withstands short‑circuit currents up to 50 kA, ready for the worst network scenarios. It is also classified as a safety and maintenance disconnect switch, complying with IEC 60947-3 and IEC 60947-6-1. This is not a “run‑of‑the‑mill” switch – it meets safety requirements for critical installations.
What is important but not immediately visible?
It does not have a “NOT-AUS” function – it is not an emergency stop. It is a source‑to‑source switch.
There is no optional external drive or voltage trigger – everything is built‑in and cannot be disabled.
Protection class IP00 means it offers no protection against dust or water – it must be enclosed in a panel.
Power 90 kW at AC-3 and AC-23 is standard for motors and inductive loads – it works well with pumps, fans, compressors.
Load switching capability up to 164 kW – more than enough for most industrial circuits.
There are no “magical” features. No screens, no apps. Just a solid construction, locking mechanism and motor drive – everything you need when you must be sure that power never runs out.
