Safety and protection in your electrical installation

Residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection is a key element in protecting the electrical installation, protecting both people and devices. The 1P+N model with a rated current of 20A and a sensitivity of 30mA, with characteristic B, provides effective protection against electric shock and overload and short circuit. Its compact size (2 modules) makes it easy to install in a distribution board.

This circuit breaker combines the functions of two devices – an overcurrent circuit breaker and a residual current device (RCD) – which translates into space saving and simplified installation. The use of type A makes it suitable for protecting circuits with devices generating alternating leakage currents, e.g. switch-mode power supplies. The short-circuit breaking capacity at 6kA guarantees a quick response in the event of a failure, minimizing the risk of damage.

Functionality and installation

The circuit breaker is characterized by a mechanical lock, preventing accidental re-engagement after tripping – an additional safety feature for the installer and user. The possibility of simultaneously disconnecting the N pole increases safety during maintenance and repairs. Connection of wires is done using screw terminals, accepting flexible wires with a cross-section of 1-16 mm² and rigid wires with a cross-section of 1-25 mm². A wide range of operating temperatures (-25°C to +40°C) allows it to be used in various environmental conditions.

It is worth paying attention to the correction of the rated current depending on the number of circuit breakers installed next to each other – with a larger number of devices, the rated current may decrease (e.g. to 0.85 for 6 circuit breakers). Thanks to the I²t limitation class of 3, the circuit breaker ensures good selectivity with other protective elements in the installation. Mounting on a DIN rail is a standard solution, ensuring easy installation and replacement of the device.
