The rising‑trigger HWX021H does not require an external relay – it is designed for direct connection to hw+ series air circuit breakers, including motor‑type and cam‑type models. Its purpose? To increase the breaker’s sensitivity to low overload currents, enabling more precise response when a standard thermal or electromagnetic trigger would be insufficient.
Control voltage 48–60 V AC/DC – flexibility in installations
Operates on both AC and DC within the 48–60 V range, meaning it can be used in systems with various control power sources: from line transformers to DC stabilizers in automation systems. No need to choose between AC or DC – this component supports both. Power consumption is only 5 VA during normal operation, with a maximum of 250 VA during start‑up impulse, resulting in a low load on the control circuit.
Environment‑resistant – no special protection required
Protected against dust and solid objects larger than 1 mm (IP4X), it operates reliably from –25 °C to +70 °C. This means it can be mounted in industrial distribution cabinets even with temperature fluctuations – no additional shielding is needed. Inter‑conductor insulation is rated for 480 V, and impulse voltage withstand capability reaches 6000 V, meeting low‑voltage installation requirements in high‑interference environments.

Just use an hw+ breaker – and it works “out of the box”.
Not functional on its own – but some functions are impossible without it
It is not a breaker, relay, or regulator. It is a system component – similar to a valve in a hydraulic circuit: by itself it does nothing, but without it the whole system loses functionality. If you have a motor or cam‑type breaker and need more precise triggering at low currents (e.g., during prolonged overloads below 125 % In), this amplifier is the only way to achieve that.
