Signaling contact for overcurrent and residual current circuit breakers

This signaling contact, designed for mounting with overcurrent (MCB) and residual current (RCBO) circuit breakers, enables remote monitoring of the circuit status. It signals both the tripped state of the circuit breaker – caused by overload, short circuit, residual current, or manual disconnection – and remote tripping using additional devices. This is particularly useful in building and industrial automation systems where rapid response to failures and remote control are important.

Functionality and application

The MZ202 contact has one normally open (1NO) and one normally closed (1NC) contact, allowing flexible use in various signaling applications. It can be used with Hager MBN/MCN/NBN/NCN/NDN series circuit breakers and residual current circuit breakers with overcurrent member ADC/ADA/ADH, as well as SA isolating switches. Its compact size – occupying only 0.5 modules – makes it easy to install even in crowded distribution boards. This allows installers to easily integrate it with existing electrical infrastructure without the need for complex modifications.

Technical characteristics and installation

The signaling contact is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 415V and a rated current of 6A. Connection is made using screw terminals, ensuring a secure and durable electrical connection. The mounting is snap-fit, which further simplifies the installation process. The device's construction ensures high reliability and long service life, confirmed by an electrical endurance of 6000 cycles and a mechanical endurance of 12000 cycles. The width of the device is 9 mm and the depth is 68 mm. The device is designed to operate at temperatures from -25°C to 60°C, and storage from -40°C to 80°C.
